Acquisition of content company

The company Netmaps, dedicated to the creation of digital cartographic content, born on the internet in 1997, has absorbed the meteorological content company Tempsbcn. Tempsbcn Int. was born in early 1997 on the internet and had recently experienced a significant decline in its online services. The company, which created services such as Cold Air Alerts (in its third year online), had reached an average of 1000 daily visits in its early years (1997-98). Tempsbcn Int. is dedicated to creating digital meteorological content for the internet and other media. Netmaps’ absorption is based on the creation of its own meteorological services for the locations on the Map Guides (www.mapasguias.com), currently focused on Catalonia with more than 25 locations online, and with a plan to expand to over 150 locations in Spain with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants before the end of the year. Tempsbcn Int. will also participate in the creation of its own network of automated information reception centers (automatic headquarters), a national network, in order to create and manage its own primary meteorological information. This process will be supported by the territorial expansion of Netmaps’ Map Guides throughout Spain. The absorption of Tempsbcn Int. also represents an important concentration of strategic digital content under a single baton in the field of the internet, on two of the basic and complementary pillars in the network: meteorological information and cartographic information. The synergy of content will also result in Tempsbcn Int. occupying one of the floors of the Netmaps building. In this sense, the changes in the content structure of Tempsbcn Int. will be effective publicly for the winter season, as it has much higher audience ratings during that time than in the summer.
“Netmaps Acquires Tempsbcn and Expands Meteorological Services”

Netmaps, a company specializing in digital cartographic content, has recently acquired Tempsbcn, a company dedicated to providing digital meteorological content. This acquisition marks a significant expansion of Netmaps’ services and presence in the field of meteorological information, as well as a strategic consolidation of digital content on the internet.

The acquisition of Tempsbcn comes at a time when Netmaps is focused on expanding its meteorological services for the locations on its Map Guides website. With a current focus on Catalonia and plans to expand to over 150 locations in Spain, Netmaps is seeking to enhance its offerings and provide comprehensive meteorological information for its customers.

As part of the acquisition, Tempsbcn will also be involved in the creation of a network of automated information reception centers, aimed at creating and managing primary meteorological information. This process will be supported by the territorial expansion of Netmaps’ Map Guides throughout Spain, further enhancing the reach and accessibility of meteorological information.

The synergy of content resulting from the acquisition of Tempsbcn will position Netmaps as a leader in providing both meteorological and cartographic information on the internet. This consolidation of strategic digital content under a single entity will not only benefit Netmaps and Tempsbcn, but also provide enhanced services for their customers.

In addition to the expansion of services, the acquisition will also result in Tempsbcn Int. occupying an entire floor of the Netmaps building, further integrating the two companies and promoting collaboration and innovation in the field of meteorological and cartographic information.

The changes in the content structure of Tempsbcn will be effective publicly for the winter season, taking advantage of the higher audience ratings during that time. This strategic timing will allow for the seamless integration of Tempsbcn’s services into Netmaps’ existing offerings, providing customers with enhanced access to comprehensive meteorological information.

Overall, the acquisition of Tempsbcn represents a significant step forward for Netmaps in expanding its meteorological services and providing comprehensive digital content to its customers. By integrating Tempsbcn’s expertise and services into its own, Netmaps is well-positioned to become a leader in the field of digital meteorological and cartographic information, providing valuable and accessible services to its customers.

With this acquisition, Netmaps is committed to providing its customers with the highest quality digital cartographic and meteorological content, further solidifying its position as a leading provider of digital content on the internet. This strategic move will not only benefit Netmaps and Tempsbcn, but also enhance the services and offerings available to their customers, ensuring they have access to the most comprehensive and accurate information available.
